Remember You by Addison Brae A few years ago a friendtreated himself to a drink after a long day working the sushi restaurant in myneighborhood. He bought me a cocktail and said something very wise that made alasting impression. “People have to love themselves first.” Many people don’t appear tohave that love. It affects their ability to be a friend, a lover, a responsibleadult. I think I love myself—until something happens or someone hits a weakspot. Like me, many people have been in relationships where their partner beatsthem down emotionally. It’s a struggle to love myself again after so much. Solong. Those doubting momentsbecame so common that I bought myself a ring. Inside the inscription says“Remember me 2011”. No one else knew

Categorizing a Novel by Pamela Thibodeaux In my last visit to Sorchia’s Universe, I discussed the difference in Paranormal and Supernatural. Today I’d like to share the importance of categorizing your novel. Reviewers have termed a couple of my books romance, paranormal, fantasy, sci-fi and Christian — all of which are OK but not exactly 100% accurate. This led me to thinking How DOES one categorize a novel? One of the major parts of a proposal is category and the advice of many is to go into a book store and find out where your book would fit on the shelves. Among the thousands of titles out there, this can be quite a challenge. Since publishers feel it’s a bit arrogant to say “My book belongs on the shelf with the other Best Sellers,” let’s look at the different categories and see how I came about determining Keri’s Christmas Wish as Women’s Fiction. Do You Love Fairy Tales for Adults? by Jessica Aspen I’ve been a big fan of twisted fairy tales for years, ever since I was a little girl. I loved ONCE UPON A TIME, THE HUNTSMAN, and all the clever Disney twists. When I started to write my own stories naturally I wanted to do the same thing, only in my own dark and twisty way. And so, HUNTED and the FAE MAGIC series was born. Because of course, I didn’t jus want the fairy tales, I also wanted the sexy elves and heros from the LORD OF THE RINGS movies. Don’t you want Aragon and Legolas for your heroes? Mmm-hm. Of course you do. While my stories are based on the fairy tales you love: Cinderella, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty,  they are uniquely my own, with deep plots running through the books, and twists you’ll never expect. Open the pages and you’ll discover poisoned apples, and stepmothers, and  o
